About Jordan

I’m Jordan Korgood, a progressive leftist running to represent Massachusetts' 4th District for Governor’s Council.

I've worked my entire adult life in public service, having spent time as a diadromous fisheries biologist for the MA Division of Marine Fisheries and as a preschool/elementary school teacher. I focused my postgrad work in Environmental Policy, earning a master's degree in it at Northeastern University. I love this state–I've spent my entire adult life here in Massachusetts from the time I was 17, and I'm proud to say that as a  transgender woman, I wouldn't be alive if not for the access to gender affirming care that living here offered me. I'm running for Governor's Council to make Massachusetts’ judicial system a better and more equitable place for all. I have personal experience with the judicial system here in Massachusetts–having been arrested as a student protestor in 2024 for asserting my 1st Amendment rights to free speech. I am painfully aware of the nepotism and political game-playing that governs our state politics, which is so often dominated by elderly and out-of-touch career politicians. I’m running to do something about it.

I am not a 'politician', but I am keenly aware of the issues impacting Massachusetts' residents today and of the flaws with our current judicial system.
Over the last 7 years I’ve lived in Boston, I’ve engaged with and been a part of all sorts of communities–from the DIY music scene to local activism and protest groups to the artists and creatives. Unlike the incumbent, I have not sat in public office for over 40 years, nor have I amassed a fortune leading a massive law firm. I live with roommates in a beautiful, small rented house on the JP/Roxbury border and I’ve never had more than a couple of thousand dollars in my checking account. What I do have, however, is drive, motivation, and chutzpah (as my late Bubbe would say-may she rest in peace). What I lack in political or technical experience, I make up for in my willingness to listen to and engage with the community–and bring their voice back into the Council's chamber.
