I’m Jordan Korgood, a progressive leftist running to represent Massachusetts 4th District for Governor’s Council.
I’m a transgender woman, a marine biologist, a former minimum wage employee, and renter in Boston running to make Massachusetts’ judicial system a better and more equitable place for all. I have personal experience with the judicial system here in Massachusetts having been arrested as a student protestor at my alma mater for asserting my 1st amendment rights to free speech, and am painfully aware of the nepotism and political game-playing that governs our state politics, which is so often dominated by elderly and out-of-touch career politicians. I’m running to do something about it.

What is the Governor’s Council?
The Governor’s Council is the oldest political body in the US (est. in 1629) and is responsible for approving or rejecting all judicial nominations for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts-specifically judges, justices of the peace, as well as members of the state’s Parole Board. The Council meets weekly to discuss judicial nominations and offers guidance and advice to the governor on judicial matters, pardons, and commutations.
Policies and Platform
The people of MA deserve a candidate that shows up for them, who is willing to fight for your values at the State House.
Showing up
Constituents deserve a Councilor who at the very least bothers to show up for each meeting and each vote.
Critical Questioning
Constituents deserve a Councilor dedicated to critically investigating and questioning each candidate that comes before the Council; no one deserves to simply be “rubber-stamped” through to become a judge, which has unfortunately become all too common.
Appointing with Purpose
Constituents deserve a Councilor who will appoint judges committed to values like racial equity, anti-recidivism, rehabilitation, trans/immigrant/abortion rights, and protecting free expression and speech for protestors and activists.
